Terms of Service
Last updated: June 1, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the sendrecv.io ZFS replication service (the "service"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
We provide dedicated, isolated ZFS jails ("conduits") as off-site
replication targets, accessed over SSH using native
zfs send / zfs receive.
Each conduit has defined limits on usable storage, snapshot count, and
dataset count according to the plan you select.
2. Accounts and security
You are responsible for the activity under your account, for keeping your password confidential, and for safeguarding the SSH private keys corresponding to the public keys you register. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account or keys have been compromised. You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the service.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to:
- store or distribute unlawful content, or content you do not have the right to store;
- infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights;
- attempt to access another customer's conduit or our infrastructure without authorization;
- circumvent plan limits, or resell capacity in a way that degrades the service for others;
- use the service in any way that violates applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate conduits that violate this section.
4. Billing and cancellation
Conduits are sold as monthly subscriptions, billed per conduit through Stripe. Your billing cycle begins the day you subscribe and renews on the same day each month. You may cancel at any time from the billing portal; your conduit remains active until the end of the current cycle. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
5. Your data and retention
You retain all rights to the data you replicate to your conduit. You are responsible for maintaining your own primary copies — a conduit is an off-site replication target, not your only copy. When a subscription ends or is cancelled, your datasets are destroyed at the end of the billing cycle and capacity is returned to the pool. We recommend ZFS native encryption for sensitive data.
6. Availability
We work to keep the service available and reliable, but it is provided without a formal uptime guarantee unless otherwise agreed in writing. We may perform maintenance, and we may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice for material changes.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, sendrecv.io will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid for the conduit in the three months preceding the claim.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service and cancel your conduits at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to comply with the law. On termination, the data-retention rules in section 5 apply.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you by email. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [your jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
